Chapel Internet & Hughes Network Systems Collaborate to Provide Broadband Internet Access Via Satellite Nationwide

RICHMOND, KY., Nov 28, 2000 -- Chapel Communications, Inc. announced today that it has reached an agreement with Hughes Network Systems (HNS) to provide broadband satellite services to small ISP's nationwide.

This alliance gives Chapel Communications the ability to provide cost-effective two-way dedicated broadband services to enterprises and other Internet Service Providers (ISP's) linking their various locations around the country. Chapel will be supplying FIREBALL DSL(tm) a product built around the Hughes DirecWay(tm) service that is targeted to the business market. In addition, Chapel will offer HNS' Classic DirecPC(R) two-way high-speed Internet service to small office and residential customers.

"This awesome new opportunity, is the result of our strategic relationship with Hughes Network Systems, and has positioned us well to fulfill our mission plan of providing broadband access to markets that are normally overlooked or underserved by the larger providers,”  said Amy Still, Director of Customer Support.  We look forward to providing inexpensive broadband services and high-speed Internet access to business and residential customers using this new technology.   The Hughes two way,  high bandwidth satellite delivery platform enables us to offer comprehensive services to our customers, regardless of terrestrial limitations.  We now can bring DSL "like" service to clients in rural or remote areas that would normally not be able to receive broadband

HNS pioneered the broadband satellite services market with DirecPC and more recently, DirecWay, featuring Broadband Everywhere(TM). According to Frost & Sullivan analyst, Jose del Rosario in a press release dated August 1, 2000, "Frost & Sullivan credits HNS with inventing the broadband satellite equipment market. DirecPC became the benchmark by which other companies had to develop their product lines."
